Before stone becomes a decorative material, it must be polished with a polishing machine, and finally it can become a common decorative material on the market. So how is it polished?
Stone polishing machine – Introduction to the working principle of stone polishing machine
Physical and chemical principle: There are two polishing processes, namely “dry polishing and wet polishing”. The polishing grindstone is between “dry and wet” when the physical and chemical action of the stone product occurs. Evaporation leads to an increase in the concentration of the polishing grindstone, thereby achieving a strengthening effect, and the gloss of the product begins to meet the expected requirements, and the gloss reaches more than 85 degrees.
Particle grinding: When the abrasive particles change from coarse grinding to fine grinding and polishing, the grinding marks on the stone surface change from coarse to fine to invisible to the naked eye, and the surface is smooth, flat and delicate. When the depth reaches 110 microns, the machined surface has a specular luster, dazzling brilliance and bright color.
Stone Polishing Machine – Factors Influencing the Type of Polishing Agent
Types of polishing agent: Although polishing agent is a special polishing material, the main difference between it and abrasive is the processing mechanism. In principle, there are some low-hardness micronized materials that can also be used as polishing agents. But usually high-hardness polishes are better than low-hardness polishes and have a wide range of applications.
Polishing fluid: Water is a commonly used polishing fluid. It can not only play the role of grinding and cooling, but also serve as a medium for physical and chemical effects in the polishing process. If the polishing of the stone is mainly mechanical grinding, such as diamond powder, then the polishing liquid is generally better to use an oily organic liquid, such as sewing machine oil. Its cooling, lubricating and dispersing effects are excellent.
Grinding paste: both water-based and oil-based, and colorants can also be added.
Polishing disc: A smooth stone panel with a flat specification, which is a manifestation of the polishing of the stone surface. Hard disks made of metal materials are mostly used as polishing disks. The polished surface of a floppy disk can easily deform when pressed against a stone. It has a concave surface for surface polishing. The medium-sized hard disk has good wear resistance, good adsorption, and has a certain elasticity, and the flat stone polishing effect is also good.
